Anyone have a KIA sorrento?

There is a lot of advertising of Kia at the moment. I think the new ones tow 2.5, which is going to improve the fuel economy.

Probably thought that it would be a good compromise, because not that many people want to tow 3.5 tons, yet it is still OK to tow trailer and one horse or a caravan.

Mine is an 04 manual 2.5 diesel. Its done 135000 miles and is feeling its age!

Just had the power steering done and the brake pipes, now needs new clutch slave cylinder and for some reason has started to sound like a bucket of nails!

The electric seat on my side doesnt work ,the seat belt warning light comes on if I sneeze, the fuel warning light doesnt work and there is a mystery beeping sound (similar to the seat belt sound) that copmes on but with no warning light so i dont know what its for! The alloys have corroded and air escapes from the tyores so I have to keep pumping them up!

Even so, its a real car, not a tank like a Disco, and I will look for another one soon. I will have to go for an auto to get the 3.5 towing capacity - 2 x 17.hh horses to tow. Having said that this one has towed skinny 17.hh plus 14.2 cob no probs.

06 plate manual one here and very pleased with it. 2.516valve TD and we get 40mpg riunning around. towes my 575kg mare and IFor 506 lovely like its not there. 4x4 not bad either but would agree change tryes in winter woukld be better. towing i go to a lesson 30 miles away each way so 60 miles round trip and it costs me just under £15 fuel.

I had one until recently and will go against the general consensus here - I hated it.

The main problem was that in 2WD it is rear wheel drive which makes it suicidal on ice (I live in Aberdeenshire). Mine was a 2.5l manual diesel and I reckon on my commute I got 18 mpg (not towing).

I researched it well and they get rave reviews but since I got rid of mine when it tried to kill me (again) I have spoken to loads of people, again locally who had the same experience. It was seriously bad in the snow too.

So fine for SE England, not so for NE Scotland :D

I have an 07 and love it, you don't realise you are towing, compared to the Suzuki I had before hand. Mines a manual; tows 3t, it is still in the 'cheaper' tax rate, if you go newer the tax is more

I've got an 04 manual diesel xs and I love it. Tows very smoothly and the turning circle is fabulous- gets you out of loads of bother when manoeuvring trailers in tight spots. Vet comfortable and nice to drive though the suspension is q hard.

Mine has a selector for auto 4 wed and low 4wd. I live in rural Cumbria and use it for harrowing, rolling etc and it copes with mud v well so not had the experience with rear wheel drive probs as experienced by scary mare! Maybe a different gear box? Overall, had it year and love it, maybe my favourite car ever......
