Anyone have horses/animals instead of kids?

I'm a horse/cat girl - babies do not interest me but I'll go mad over a kitten / foal!
My pony and cat are definitely the 'children' in my life and I'm happy that way!
 
I've just turned 36 and still have no desire for children and neither does my OH, my body clock is not ticking..

Interesting that someone mentioned about a woman's instinct to nurture - I don't treat my horses/pets as children but do care for them deeply and feel fulfilled so perhaps that's why so many people with horses don't have children?

I've never particulary wanted children but have only had horses for 6 years - I wonder if I would have had children by now if I didn't have horses - would have more time and money if I didn't have horses so that may have made a difference?
