And if so, are they any good?

Look for cheapy spares for winter & found these on ebay. Don't want to spend a fortune, but rather not waste money on really rubbish rugs that rub & leak.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated :)

Yes I have had Knight Rider ones in the past, horses lived out 24/7 and I never had an issue.

I have also had an Axiom last winter ( I think thats how you spell it ) £30 Combo on Ebay - also well recomended.

Knightrider rugs are average in my opinion, they are not as good as they used to be, whereas the Sheldon one i have now is fantastic, nice deep fit, wears well and i would strongly recommend this one.I have other Sheldon stuff too and it's all good.

Sheldon rugs are very good value, they fit well and don't fall apart, our horses have their medium weights and summer turnouts and they have all lasted and done a great job.
Knight rider have a bad reputation so i hear

i have a knight rider on a welsh pony, was second hand when i got it and its done 2 winters with me and still going strong, good fit on mine but like all rugs they don't suit all types :)

I only have one knight rider, waterproof isn't that good, but ok but the velcro was awful, the loop side just fell apart in strands, I think it was too sticky! Otherwise good rug, brought for a mini so can't really comment on fit, but like above neck was very long, it was also nice and deep.

I have an 8 year old Knight Rider that is still going strong - I have had to replace the front clips but I don't think that's unreasonable.
I also have a 1 year old Knight Rider which is not quite as good but still a nice fit, just not quite as waterproof as it could be.

I have a sheldon rug. The rug itself is great. The only problem i have is doing the neck cover up as the velcro won't go through the rings. Have had to cut the backing off the velcro to get them through.

I've got a Sheldon combo on order for my boy, expecting it next week. I liked how it offers 250g weight as I feel he needs a bit more warmth than his 200g (he has a medical condition & will be 18 next year, also his stable doesn't have a top door & has a gap at the bottom of the door) but didnt want to go right up to 300g, as he is a cob & not clipped. I have seen one in real life & it seemed robust & well made, especially as they are reasonsbly priced, and was generously cut.
I also really like the navy & blue check design!
So hopefully a good purchase.

Sheldon standard neck are too big in the neck for the small ponies but fine on the bigger ones with thicker neck almost like the smaller rugs are cut to the same neck as the big ones had to put tucks in the neck for my 5 ft rug size ponies

Just bought a Sheldon as a spare T/O for my lad and i love it. He's a chunky sort and it fits well and does it's job. Def get another when the need arises.
