Hi all,

I am so excited that I might be able to achieve my dream of competing there this year and wondered if anyone else was heading up?

can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!

is anyone going? :D I may need help in XC finish (insert water, bucket, sponge, ice, buckets and a pony emojis here ;) )

Yes, no competing but OH and I are going up on Wednesday till Sunday, staying in the Atholl Arms as usual, really looking forward to it. If you are stuck for help let me know, only issue is I'm not quick on my feet and walk with crutches so not the ideal wash down person any more sadly but would be willing to help / hold horse if no one else was available. I've done it all in the past so have the necessary knowledge etc.

My son is working voluntarily in the event stable management team again so you'll no doubt see him about the stables, he'll be there Sunday - Sunday, like a lot of the others giving up a week of work.

Blair is such a lovely event, I really enjoyed it when we competed there and still love it as a spectator.

Good luck and enjoy the experience!

What day are you riding? If its the Thursday or Friday and you want a groom, just give me a shout!

Just spectating/shopping for the day on Saturday. Will likely drop the OH off at Pitlochry Gold Club for a day with some of his pals before the wee one and I head up to hunt for bargains and in Freya's case squeal over all the pretty ponies! Oh to be 3 again!

I'm camping Thurs to Sunday, can't wait, gonna switch off the phone and geek out on horses :)

Hope the weather stays good, have a great time. :D

Mr bear can be a bit sprightly in the wash down so woudln't want you to be knocked over. Do come and say hi though! if we complete XC I may cry!! I will keep an eye out for your son (although he will look a bit odd if I ask if he is HHO Eventing mum's son I guess!).

He probably won't, he knows I'm on here quite a bit - his name is James!

I'm there all weekend from Friday, spectating obvs

I'd offer to help but Mr JB is coming on xc day and I can't see him being I pressed at me leaving him to help!

I'll look out for him then! Is he in the eventing stabling or the Showing/BS stabling? :D

No worries, have a great time. I think I might have enough helpers now anyway so all cool. as a helper you don't get to see any XC while I'm on course which is a shame unless they have screeens (doubtful). see you there - I'll be in orange with navy stars! :D

I won't be at Blair this year, I had better work one weekend in August! When are you next back to use the gallops?
Sunday I think - love the gallops, they are so beneficial to the horses and my fitness paranoia!

Heading up Sat staying over then showing on Sunday, so no good to help you out but also very excited.
Good luck on Sunday, what classes are you doing?

Pretty unbelievably we are taking the 'soured show jumper' that I did a thread about a few months ago! He is still not the bravest boy but he is trying so hard! He has qualified for the Courier WH but we may not do that depending on his mental state after the two ridden classes and Novice WH.... Considering our plan was to get him jumping 80cm happily this year we are so pleased with him! He is also hopefully doing the Style jumping early on Friday morning
Please feel free to come and pat him at any point! My daughter has no great expectations but is very much looking forward to riding at Blair on the horse exercise area!

He's in the event stables - blue lorry and will have his Jack Russell with him.

Last time we competed (a few years ago) they had a tent at the start with a TV monitor in so I managed to watch James on a fair bit of the course.
