As above :D

Just wondering if anyone was still in touch with her and could PM with a dolly update.

I know (and understand) why she stopped posting, but I do miss the updates and would love to know how they are getting on.

Hiya, im friends with her on facebook. Alls going well Dollys settled nicely and there both getting more confident. Redmone even managed to tack up all by herself, she was chuffed to bits!!! If you personal message her she prob give you a better update than me!! She still logs in. :)

Ive not actually asked her!! LOL I did a post a while back cos we hadnt heard from her in a while think it may have been to do with the riding school but that wasnt her that said why so i really dont know.
I loved her updates though, and the way she wrote them were brilliently!!!:D

HELLLLLOOOOOOOO!!!

I'm here! I regularly stalk these pages and was very surprised to see my name up here on the front page!!!:eek::eek:

Sorry for the lack of updates! Thank you for your understanding!!!

OK. The update!!!

Everything is great!!! Dolly has settled in really really well. She's a completely different pony to how she was 3 months ago (it's been 3 months - can you believe it!!!). So much happier and chilled.

I can't believe how much more confident my daughter is with her now. I was watching her in the indoor school at weekend and her riding has changed so much. She doesn't seem so tiny on Dolly anymore. She really "rides" her now. We still have our cheeky moments (!!) but no more than anyone else. The "issues" daughter has with Dolly at present are the fact that she doesn't like "going" on her own (but daughter carrying, but not using, a whip fixed that at weekend, so we'll try that again!) and Dolly's rather unpredicable canter, which daughter is avoiding at the moment as the RS are kindly working on that for us.

Daughter is LOVING being a pony owner and everything that comes with it! She's made lots of new friends and her confidence has grown so much. She bought Dolly a saddle pad at weekend, with her saved up pocket money!

And YES!!! I TACKED UP!!!! The bridle has been my nemesis for a few weeks now, but on Sunday I finally got those ears in!! Had to stick my finger in Dolly's gob :p and wiggle it until I got the bit in (she knew I wasn't good at this, I know she wasn't making it easy!!!) but I did it!!! :D

Me and daughter can tie Dolly up, groom, tack up (still early days there!), ride around (well - I run!!) and untack etc....we've learnt so much, it's been GREAT!!! Daughter can lead Dolly really well now and has learnt to push her across when Dolly decides not to move. She's doing so well and is much tougher than a few months ago!!

Daughter has done loads over the past months - some obstacle courses, drill training, pony club badges, private lessons etc....all going really well.

Last weekend, daughter stepped up and collected a massive trophy from a lovely presentation evening that the riding school arranged following the summer show, where she came 1st in walk and trot equitation. SERIOUSLY PROUD MUM MOMENT!!!!

My nerves are improving! They might be shot again when daughter starts cantering Dolly properly, and god help me, jumping eventually! But for now, I'm Mrs  !!!! We're taking it slow and steady over winter and hoping that will pay dividends next year.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REMEMBERING US!!! I do still follow HHO regularly and use it to gain valuable knowledge. You've all helped us so much, I owe you these updates!!!

Is that a good enough update for now??? :D:D:D

D'you know, I was just thinking about you and daughter and Dolly a few days ago and wondering how it was all going for you. I'm so glad to hear things are going well!:)

Thanks everyone!

Glad we made such a lasting impression! Will have to post a few pics soon! Daughter's slightly bigger, Dolly's slightly smaller, and I'm much much more skint!!!

I'm addicted to rugs and numnahs and brushes and things I never knew existed until recently!! I'm regularly covered in pony snot and goo (and do you know, I'm a goth and generally we don't like these things!!!) - I resist the urge to tell daughter that she's "on the wrong leg" and suggested that she practiced "rein back" at weekend!!!

I mean, honestly, WHAT DID YOU ALL DO TO ME???????

Love every minute of it though!! :D

I might not know what I'm talking about, but I'm great at spending money!!!
