anyone heard of cruiser and cavalier royale bloodlines??

My friend events a cavalier royale son and her friend also has a son of his who events, he is a good and popular sire of event stock, Take a look at the fei world rankings list and he features alot in the top 100 horses pedigrees. They aren't always the easiest of horses though! But then alot of top horses aren't!!! Take a look at the link for one of the boys!
(P.S admin I'm not selling the horse so I hope this isn't regarded as advertising)

We have a Cavalier mare and she is worth her weight in gold.
One of her first foals qualified for Lanaken last year and another foal was sold to America.
He is the spit of his mother.

Cruisings are very hard to come by these days and very hard to buy. They are known to be quirky but the good ones are very good.

Both stallions produce very talented progeny, fetch excellent prices and there is as far as I am aware a small amount of frozen semen still available for both. However the fertility rates are extremely low and the costs of straws extremely high.

The progeny are generally "professional rides" . Some studs in Ireland do not accept mares to stud by Cruising as they are so difficult/dangerous to handle. I have a Cruising mare and she is a kind and easy mare to handle so is I am told an exception - she is also lacks talent - you cannot win them all.

Cavalier Royale sired at least 3 of the Olympic eventers, and at most BE events you will see a lot sired by him!

I have a 14yo who is very brave and bold but not easy... I think htat is quite common, in fact most of the ones I see are bitted up quite well for XC!!! I thkn this is a common trait

I saw a couple when I was at the Goresbridge sales in 07 and they do sell for good money, mind you they were very nice horses too so are worth the price they go for!!

I think the previous owner paid double figures for my boy as a 4yo just come over from Ireland, he should have gone to a pro, but he was with her at PN until 10yo and I have been upto Nov on him but don't have a desire to go further even though he is definitely capable so he hasn't really reached his potential (But he has a nice life!!

Here are just a few of his Advanced Event offspring:

Call again Cavalier , Imperial Cavalier, Cashel Bay, Ben along Time, Rosalier, Kilkishen ........ and many more!!

Our young horse's grandsire is Cavalier Royale ( sire is High Roller). So far he is quite amenable to whatever he is asked- but yet to see how he is when the pressure is put on! He is quite a character though with a very cheeky look in his eye! However,I don't know which side he takes after - his other grandsire is Diamond Lad.

i have a cruising mare who is a bit tricky! she came from ireland as a 4 year old and used to whip round and get people off, she'd also take off squeeling if i put her a bit deep and would always spook at things in the school and 4 years later not much has changed! she still spooks at pointless things that she sees everyday, whips round but doesn't do as much squeeling! in the box she is like a shark always trying to take chunks out of me!

1st 2 pics are her as a 6 year old, the second 2 as a 7 year old. she qualified for hoys as a 6 year old and fractured her pedal bones so never got to jump there but came back last year, not sure she is the same as she was.

I would personally avoid Cruising at all costs, I bought a Cruising Sired youngster out of an Animo mare and he is and always has been a complete tosser.

On a "stallion visiting tour" of Ireland last week, several people mentioned that they were keen on Diamond Lad mares, though they could be quite sharp! My broodmare, whose damsire is Diamond Lad, is certainly quirky, and was really a pro ride .....

I would have expected the professional showjumper who bought him on my behalf to produce to have known tbh as its not my game, but we all learn in hindsight, and from now i'll choose my own

Here is a cruising mare dam by cavalier. She is 4. A bit tricky but very sweet. Just need to be on the right side of a cruising. We just had her covered by the late Vechta in April this year. Rare bloodlines by all accounts as we had to pay good money as a 3 year old at Cavan. Foal due on St Patricks Day!!!:D

I know of a couple of cavalier sons, both are querky as hell but very talented, unfortunately they seem to be the sort of horses that on their day will win anything, but very often have bad days!! So it's a constant battle to get the best out of them!!!
