i was thinking of doing some of their meets as they are a bit faster than the one i did yesterday where there was alot of stop for a minute walk 10 paces stop then walk stop walk and it got my horsey really annoyed so i was thinking of going out with coakham i went on one of thier children meets last year on my old horse but was wondering what sort of shape their non children meets are like, i know there is one this sunday near wittersham wondering if anyone knows what it is like or planning on going

We've been out a couple of times and their meet card arrived today.

As we aren't familiar with their meets (despite clicking through their photo albums to get a feeling for them) we are going to ring them up and ask which ones are the biggest, which ones would suit a wimpy middle aged blob (me!:p) etc and then make a plan...give them a call, they are certainly friendly so I'm sure it would help. Depending on your age: they've just started doing an under 25 cap of £30 so worth a try one day!

Hi, I hunt with the Coakham. We are pretty fast and furious for the most part although still have rest periods between lines that can be lengthy. The benefit is that your horse is usually recovering so doesn't fidget too much!! I'll be at Wittersham tomorrow but I haven't hunted there before so can't tell you what it's like, usually there are some good jumps and normally a hedge or three but always a group, especially on a Sunday, who don't want to jump and find alternative routes.

It's definitely the friendliest hunt I've met, no need to book in either just download and sign the disclaimer from the webbie and bring it with you, oh and cake if you want tea afterwards!

If you do go I'll be on the little black and white funny looking thing and have a small renault blue box :)

Juliehannah - is there definately always a group who don't jump? I'd like to bring my pony along, but we don't really jump at the mo (as he puts really dirty stops in!) Building the jumping back up again, but I think hunting would do him the world of good!
