Is there anyone out there who has emigrated to Canada and got into the equestrian scene over there? I plan to emigrate to Alberta/British Columbia within a couple of years (my OH is Canadian but has lived in UK most of his life) and I'd love to hear about eventing / SJ in Canada ...I've done a bit of online research but would be lovely to hear from someone who's there! :)
 
pm Tarrsteps and Spooky Pony. They are your best bet I am thinking, both actually are in the UK, but they know the Canadian horse scene.

SaddleBags also, she is on VI but did move from the UK.
 
Hi Littlegem, I'm in B.C. on Vancouver Island.
There is'nt a very big eventing community here in B.C. and the few people I know who do event only find about four decent venues a year to attend and quite a lot of travel is required as they are spaced out in the province.

As for Jumping there are some really decent shows around the Vancouver area throughout the summer, then a lot of people I know head to Palm Springs for the Indio and Thermal circuits in the winter.

I'm not familiar with the scene in Alberta except of course for Spruce Meadows.

As distances are quite large here it might depend a lot on what area of B.C. or Alberta you end up in.
