Last night my partner was driving in East Sussex and saw a pointer out on the road, running scared, she went out to try and catch it but it wouldn't let her near it. As she went back to her car another car came past and hit the dog, it ran off yelping. They both spent ages looking for it in the dark, and knocked on local people's doors, some local people came out to help look, but the dog warden and other locals said the dog had been running up and down that road all day and didn't offer much help at all.
I was expecting my partner to come home with the dog so we could run it to the vet, but she never found it. She is sure it must be alive as thinks the car only just hit it from the side.

Goodness, poor you. Its horrid when a scared dog wont come to you.

I will keep my ears open, am off to the vets tomorrow, so will mention and see if they have heard anything.
