from my last post "whos turned out" i got the jist that my yard is the only yard in the world still forcing us to keep our horses stabled for........... erm winter?

meaning turnout restricted to every OTHER day.
(which is only tue thur and sat)

im so fed up for my poor mare standing in.

is anyone elses yard doing the same?

i know some people choose to stable all year.... but is anyone else still having to keep them in because of yard owners not allowing turn out?

Have you no grazing at your yard? It's almost June? I cannot see why your turnout should be restricted like this at this time of year. I would really consider looking for another yard because this appears ridiculous, if you can't turn a horse out in June then when can you?

To be honest, I want daily turnout (even if I then choose not to use it). How can the horses have any sort of routine, going out every other day? Time to look for another yard, me thinks.

That would be a good enough reason for me to move yards,

it's bad enough for horses in the winter being stabled but "In the summer as well"

Are there more horses than available land, why is the turnout stil restricted?

We are luck to have all year round turnout but we do bring in at night. The yards near us turned out at the end of April.
We are struggling this year as there is so much grass and every horse is having shorter days out for the fear of laminitus.

soory took so long to get back they finally went out today!

but heres the ionic bit the grass is so long i cant leave her out for fear of her getting lami!

not that i think she ever would but going from grazed to knee high meadow might take a week or two to get her used to it dont want her getting fat!

its stupid isnt it!!

i cant even find places that turn out more than every other day though in manchester!!

most places dont turn out in the winter
