Got family in this area and am toying with heading down there too. Up in north Scotland at the moment and as the BE calender is getting smaller and smaller I think I may be better south. I was wondering what the livery yards around the area are like, how much DIY costs there. Also what is the name of riding clubs in the area? And are there many BE events within an hour drive??
Any info would be fantastic xx
 
I'm not far from Market Drayton but can't really answer your questions re costs as keep our ponies at home, and they are retired. There are quite a few livery yards in the area, and riding clubs , Maelor, Wrekin North, Telford, and Nantwich. With regard to BE events, there is Malpas, Cholmondeley has just restarted, Kelsall hill, Stafford, and Weston Park are all within an hour but not sure what level events they hold. It is a very horsey area though.
 
Thank you for the info. Been looking at property to rent and prices are around the same as where I am. Not wanting to sell our house in Scotland if we do go and I think if we rent our house out here it will more than cover our rent down there as we would down size as well.
Just want to see what the yards are like now before getting down to the nitty gritty of it all...the girls would have to find a fab home and it will be hard to beat what we have here for facilities and friendly banter, I love my yard just not where in the country it is!! x
