I'm looking for any horsey related info for the area.

Farriers, vets, dentists, riding clubs/schools, bridleways etc, anything horse related.

Not liveries though, we'll be doing that hopefully.

Anyone?

Hi Jon, welcome to the forum - but as bosworth, please be a bit more specific! FWIW, we are at Moretonhampstead, run a feed merchants, have an excellent vet, Richard Stringer, and there is Moretonhampstead Riding Club.

If you'll be having liveries, would it not help you to know where there are already livery yards?

I am from South Devon, but know Okehampton area so might be able to help. What are you looking for a good equine practice?

@Kitsune - Yes that's me. Equus died late 2008 sadly.

We're moving to that area to semi retire and run a B&B plus smallholding plus small livery yard. I'm being deliberately vague as we're in the process of buying a place and I don't want to jump any guns.

Okehampton +/- 10 miles is near enough.

Richard Stringer keeps popping up which is interesting as does the Grange at Okehampton.

Thanks everyone for the replies so far.

hope you are well and would love to see pics of how the new one is progressing, I also have a new one as I'm sure you will see at some point. Sorry to hijack your thread, its just nice to see you!

Dentist - Bill Lomas!! He's reaaaally good!

The Grange in okehampton hold lots of events, theres also Lydford Station Stables depending on where you're gonna be, they hold some small shows there. Theres some other places around but depends how far you want to travel!

Riding clubs wise I only know of Lyd Valley Riding Club which is near there, but there are quite a few around, again depends how far you're willing to travel!

Theres a good XC course in Winkleigh and theres also a jumpcross fairly near too, at Chagford!

Hope that helps a tad
