I was looking thru some old photos and came across some from when I first started riding (when I was about 7) I was just wondering if the girl whose stable I rode at was still on the go, so to speak. Her name was Janet Lapley, and lived at the other end of the lane from my Gran in Rochford/Canewdon. She must be in her late 50's/early 60's by now. Her horses were her life and she and Winston had many rosettes.

I don't know the lady but thought I would wave and say Hi!!

Wow, I didn't really expect anyone to know much about her

Do you see her very often? I'd just gone all nostalgic when I was looking at the photos, it must be about 40 years ago now. She probably wouldn't remember a shy little Scottish girl who rode in the summer holidays!

Yes see her about once every 2 weeks ish.

I have a horse form her at a time to compete and event. At the mo have a grade A from her who is going to trun his hoof to eventing! I hope!!

She is a loely lady who really knows her stuff!!!

She is Rettendon way now.

Where do you live now?

Im' in Edinburgh. My Gran & Grandad lived in Apton Hall Road,Rochford, and Janet lived in Brays Lane. I used to travel down to Rochford with my Mum for the 6 weeks school holidays. I just loved it there. My Gran died so we stopped going there. I have always wondered what happened to Janet, my time there will always be precious to me, and I have had a lifelong passion for horses. If you see her, could you pass on my heartfelt thanks for making my holidays to fantastic. I doubt that she will remember me, but my tummy always goes "ping" when I think about those days

You must be very proud to have a horse with such potential, good luck with him!

No I don't have a horse

I keep telling my poor husband that if I hadn't of married him then I would have had a horse instead

I rode regularly for 20 years but never had the time to spare to look after my own and always promised myself that when I stopped working I would think about getting one. I retired early from work but my parents were getting old (my Dad has since passed away), and I just don't have the time I need. One day I will, but I feel now that age is not on my side (I'm 54!), I'm a Great Auntie, but not a Grandmother - yet!

Thought I recognised that name. My horse is also from Temple farm and she helped me loads to get a copy of her foaling certificate that was lost by previous owner. I don't really know her but she was very helpful.

Do you have any pics of yours?

Oh how sad. From what I can remember when I googled pics of Temple De Konig your boy looks quite a bit like him. Mine was out of a ISH mare called Moelfryn Lucky Bee, I can't find out anything about her but Janet said she was a Grade B showjumper. Molly must take after her cos she looks nothing like her sire. If you click on my name and go into my webshots there are tons of photos of her in there. Met someone else who has a gelding by him and they said he was rather quirky and temperamental. Molly is very spooky and naturally suspicious by nature but is very kind.
