Do you keep your horse near Marlborough Wiltshire and if so what is the outriding like? Is it a horsey area?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

hi peter, I keep my horse in Newbury which is not far from Marlborough and yes it is horsey....you have lambourn not too far away and all the wiltshire countryside which is beautiful. I think marlborough can be expensive but around the outskirts you should be able to find a lovely yard...there will be loads and plenty of good riding.

I'm about 35 mins away, depending on which area around Marlborough you go for the riding can be fantastic. The west side is all across the downs on old turf/chalk so its lovely

I'm like 10 mins away, West (I think lol)- as machannah said it depends were you are.
It is a very horsey area.
We have ours stabled right on the bottom of the ridgeway - couldn't find much better riding.

Isn't that Tedworth hunt country? I used to keep mine a bit further south on the plain and it was the best place I have ever kept a horse. The Marlborough downs are fantastic anyway and there's all that space around Barbury too. Most of Wiltshire is horsey.

slightly depends exactly where you are but inb general the riding is great. you can get onto the ridgeway from marlboruogh and even on the swindon side there are plenty tracks. traffic a bit heavy round there though.
