Anyone know Abi sold by Safecobs?

Lovely result. I always try and contact old owners and it has never bitten me on the bum yet - they have always been pleased to hear how their horse was. Afterall I imagine most of those wanting to contact is because you are pleased with the horse and want to share their past :)

Does anyone know bojangles IRL? Hope she sees this - sue121fit it may be worth dropping her a pm, in case the thread drops down and she misses it?

Brilliant result. Happy post and pleased to hear both old and new owners will be over the moon. What would we do without HHO!

Oh wow!!! I'm absolutely thrilled!! I'm so glad I logged on today :). Many many thanks to everyone who bumped the thread so I'd see it and of course, thanks to Sue121fit for posting!!! I'll PM you.

Wow, made my day!! :)

Well this horse has been around !

She was at my yard on the outskirts of Basingstoke/Reading in 2009.
She belonged to a nice lady who was very fond of her but I do know she was sold on.

That was me :). Thanks for the nice comments, don't know if I've ever been called a nice lady before! Who are you Gingersmum, PM if you like :)

What a nice type Abi looks! Not surprised she sold quickly :)

So pleased you can fill in the blanks for each other. Could we have an update from one of you please with some piccies?

To the lady who posted that she used to own Abi pre 2009, can you give me more details.
we have Abi now , she is well, happy and well cared for, it would be lovely to find out some of her history if you can help. sue

HaHa, small world !
It seems 'Bojingles' may be the owner I am referring to !! I am just waiting for a PM back to confirm.

(but come on 'Bojingles' I may have called you a 'nice lady' but you are not the same young girl riding Abi in the second pic !! nor did you own a chiwawa ?!)

Hi Gingersmum, caught out red-handed re the girl riding Abi - that was my neice-in-law if such a thing exists ;).

And the dog is NOT a chihuahua! She would take great offence at that - she's a Jack Russell cross Pom ;). She ended up with me in 2011 so you wouldn't have met her. I'll PM with all my news :)

Awww So glad you found Abi. Its always nice to know that they are loved and still well cared for.

Cant believe safe cobs wouldn't pass details on to either of you 2 though. On the facebook page there always commenting that if you send your horse to them to be sold. They promise to pass on old owners details and that is also in there contract.

Brilliant story - love a happy ending! Just goes to show there's often nothing with previous owners contact new - i tracked down a TB i'd had to sell when he was 12 due to a relationship break up - he'd had a tough time settling & changed hands in the first year so i completely lost track - eventually found him 7years later by putting a "Despertately Seeking" ad in a horsey mag - didn't think i'd have much chance of finding a bay with no markings, but i did - by that time he'd severed a tendon, wasn't ever gonna be sound, & had developed cataracts in both eyes - i brought him home to retire & he was with me until the grand old age of 28, blind as a bat, but very happy.

Thanks everyone for your nice replies :). I'm so happy to have found Abi in such a wonderful home. I'm disappointed in Safecobs in that they promised me contact, which never materialised, but also because the new owner wanted to contact me and they didn't allow that either. I can understand a dealer not wanting to put their customer base in direct contact with each other, but in this case, they shouldn't make the promise. Abi was still my horse when this assurance was given and I would've thought twice about selling otherwise.

Abi looks stunning and happy, and seems to be having the time of her life on hacking, cross-country and camp adventures. I'm delighted! I'm really grateful to Sue for getting in touch and wish them all the best for the future. We'll be keeping in touch :).
