Anyone ever had a dog with EPI?

My boy went in for blood tests today as he has been losing weight, the vet initially thought diabetes but the results seem to indicate EPI, they are sending blood off to the proper lab for a definitive diagnosis.

Having googled it, the photos are horrific. Many of the dogs wouldnt look out of place on one of those animal rescue programmes. There doesnt seem to be a cure, or reliable treatment, but the vet mentioned surgery

No, it is more widespread in the states though. I'd try trawling some USA forums.
Sheps can get it, which one of your boys is it?
Diet has to be very carefully managed obviously.
