Anyone know about worming programmes?

Our current worming programme states that we wormed with Pramox 4 weeks ago, and worming with Panacur 5 day guard next weekend (16th). Wormers direct have said that these shouldn't be used so close together.

Anyone know if this is the case?

Well as both moxidectin (in Pramox) and Panacur 5 day are pretty good at encysted small redworm, it seems a bit pointless.
Moxidectin is reputed to last for 13 weeks....I'd save my Panacur 5 day for the spring if I were you (unless you think your horse is very wormy)

it would be pointless to give panacur 5 day so soon after using equest. in fact it's pretty pointless anyway (useless wormer with massive resistance). i still cant believe some of the complicated worm plans people are using. there is now resistance to panacur, strongid-p etc etc. the most sensible thing we can do is minimise worming by doing worm counts and seeing if it's really necessary. my own horse has only ever been wormed twice a year for tapeworms and encysted redworms - funnily enough he's still healthy, still fat and his worm counts are still zero! oh, and the other thing people need to do is working out what their horses weigh because under-dosing causing resistance big time!

echo everything star has said, i could honestley scream at the amount of people who have absolutley no idea about the weight of their horse when weightapes are so cheap, readily availible and easy to use, if we are not careful we will have no effective anthelmintics ( worming drugs) left......
