Just having a browse.. had a chat with mother and potentially getting me a different horse to showjump - want an honest horse that'll jump on most strides - never stops type. but preferably not too many winning BS as would preferably still be eligable for smaller classes - but not a major issue. I will want to start from almost scratch again, 75cm ish, and work my way up again to do BS 1m/1m05 eventually. that is my aim (if my confidence allows)

have had a browse on horsemart/horsequest/horsedeals and not found anything crazy nice... just thought if anyone knew any dealers/sj yards that have websites that i could have a browse on.. have googled stuff but not come up with much!!

i know queenholme in leicestershire is good, have looked there too

thanks in advance guys!!

I would ring midland equestrian and speak to John Steels. I think he'd give you sensible advice and he has some stunning horses.

try Liane Smith in Chesterfield - think her stud is called spiretown or something like that, she may know of something suitable

Yes theres one north nottingham. I could put you in touch if you want or pm you? there have some really nice youngsters out jumping and train them really well

Someone on my yard is selling their grade b schoolmaster but guessing too many winnings ? Also he is 15 so not sure if too old? They are asking £3700

hmm, would rather not have a youngster really - do they have older horses as well? i.e. 7yo onwards??

yes, maybe too many winnings - had this problem with my first horse, he was a schoolmaster and i found it hard to find regular amateur classes in my area for him as he was jumped out of everything!! would rather a horse that has jumped 1m05 trailblazers and BN/Disc so had experience but not too many winnings - thankyou anyway! :)

everyone has been very helpful!! thankyou all!! will have a massive browsing session tonight!!

Probably too far (more west midlands) but Mark Alman always has some lovely looking horses, but maybe more event than SJ type...
That's probably quite unhelpful but ho-hum! :lD

Definately give Milton Warmbloods and Jump Elite a call - both are very near me (about 10 mins from Osberton!) so not too far for you :) People from the PC have bought from both and the horses have always been good.

i know Ken Clawson has a sales livery part of his yard based south leics. Whether or not he buys and sells youngsters i don't know. Might be worth a call though :)

thankyou everyone!!! :D we have also told my sj instructor and my mum's dressage instructor to keep a look out too!

that said... the market doesn't seem amazing at the moment!! usually when i used to browse (out of curiosity) at horses for sale there'd be pages and pages... there doesn't seem to be many at the moment!! hopefully the perfect horse is just round the corner :)

thankyou everyone!! i have emailed numerous of your examples to see what they have and see if they have anything suitable :)

TBH most of the dealers mentioned in these replies are ok but will want to charge you mega bucks which is really not necessary if you only want to jump 1.0m -1.05m.

Why not just look out for a nice reasonably priced youngster from a private person?

thing is, i don't want a youngster :( i have had a confidence loss and need something i can trust/i know has done it before... i don't think i'm confident enough again yet to take on a youngster

and as for only wanting to compete 1m/1m05 - i did say i want to get back to where i was and jump at this level, which i agree i don't need a grade A international horse to do :) but if i have a horse that has the scope for higher, i'll do it (when i get my confidence back and i trust them)

I have a contact in Warwickshire, she is lovely. She found my lovely horse for me (I have known her since I was about 9), regularly goes to Ireland and sends most of them out to compete at Weston Lawns. Hers will be more reasonably priced than most dealers as she likes to get them moved on quickly and does not do sales livery.
