Heywood equestrian - westbury
West wilts equestrian centre
Horse croft stables - westbury
Whitehill liveries - calne
Wick yard - Bradford on Avon

Relocating in April, desperately seeking new fab yard that isn't 40 mins away unlike current place! Can anyone give any info on above yards? Good or bad, pm me if you prefer. Or recommend anywhere decent near melksham?

Many thanks

Are you on FB? if so join the wiltshire riders group and ask the question on there too:)
someone told me horsecroft were closing but i don't know if that's true or not:confused:
Whitehill stables i can vouch for, Ann is lovely and knows her stuff, think she does part or full livery though not DIY.
There is also forest stables in melksham, small and friendly, they are on FB. There's also the Reybridge farm stables nr Lacock which is closer to melksham than westbury or bradford on avon.
The farm where i livery is on the edge of melksham but it is very basic but if you needed something as an interim until you found a yard there is always space to be found and we're close to a yard with an arena for hire:) pm me if you want details.
HTH, i can recommend a very good vet if you need one and i can tell you which farriers to avoid and which ones are good;)

Thanks so much for the info, yes any info on vets and farriers would be great. I'll go and have a search for the other yards you mentioned :)

Heywood is under new management, the lady seems really nice. Grazing is in short supply but the indoor and outdoor schools are nice.
West Wilts is expensive, brilliant facilities but no turn out and hacking is around their fields but only when the ground suits. They are advertising their livery on the website atm.
Horsecroft has definately closed for liveries.

I don't know about the others. I would also suggest John Painters yard up Ashley Road in Bradford on Avon (behind St Laurence School), good grazing, outdoor school, hacking round lanes and xc/sj/dressage field in the summer too. Another one around the same area (other end of the lanes to Ashley Road) is Hartley farm.

Vet that I use is Garston, my farrier is Chris McKell and the dentist I use is Curtis Thomson very please them :)

Good luck with your yard search and your move to the area!! :)
