Any pointers as to what it's like? They have a HT coming up but I'm fussy about my courses

I like the more traditional, flowing courses, rather than some of the ones I've been to where it's like showjumping round fields of bizarrely painted boxes

I think its the one fihunt goes to a lot, amd sure she will send you some pics. I think it looks more traditional from the pics, drop her a PM if she doesn't answer here.

Hi

I have been there. It's nice. Good selection of fences, not all in one field either. It kind of goes up hill and down dale if you know what i mean. I remember being knackard after walking the course!!! Good quaility fences. Worth an outing i would say.

Have fun

I go there regularly. Are you thinking of doing the Hunter Trial on the 31st? I like the course, here's some pics of me and Genie going round the 2'6... Excuse numpty rider!

The owner, Anna, is lovely, and I find the events there to be very well run. I agree with patchyponies that walking the course is knackering! There's one MAHOOOOSIVE hill! The only painted fence that comes to mind is the house at the end of the course if you're doing the big class. The course goes round the edge of their land (I think they said they had about 60 acres), with two waters (one is a stream you just go through and up a slope and jump, the other you go through and jump out). The smaller classes are all nice logs, you don't do the chair, pheasant feeder etc until 2'6 and up.

we go there a lot..have worked up through the class's ...it is over veery good ground but takes a good deal of walking as long course and VERY hilly has two streams to ride through..we did the 3ft and son then did the open max 3ft6 mad child!!! Does have a gate to open and shut in the bigger class's at the start of the timed section...but they have never elimated anyone we know of...have fun its a lovely place with lovely people running it

baily are you doing the one on the 31st? I'll be there with Genie!

Your son is definately mad... some of those jumps in the open are beasts! Especially that whopping great big hedge near the end! I am a wuss however so to me those are unimaginable!

I agree it jumps very well. Have seen a number of people eliminated at the first fence though! The timed section is early on and starts on a fairly steep hill (downhill), but is short and then you can relax!

Anybody fancy a HHO meetup on the 31st?

Oh WOW fihunt thank you sooo much for posting all those, how kind of you!! And I have to say, it looks FAB! Will be entering the 2'6, yes on the 31st. A meet up would be ace!

2 lots of water too, fabulous, we haven't done water before, only at home!

Thankies all

and yes to meet up, love the look of your horse fihunt, right up my street, will be space in my lorry on way home too...

Hehe we'll be competing against each other!

The first lot of water is lovely, you can just walk in and through it, then trot up the bank at the end and pop the palisade - the water pic above is us approaching the bank of the first water. You can walk into the second one as well so it's nice for horses that aren't used to water or are sticky about it.

You ain't having my Genie! :P I think I would be thoroughly told off by my nephews if I brought home an empty box!

Hi, if I'm right about who you are (& I'm sure I am) I hope they don't have another gas explosion in Wickwar like when we were at school!

Have lots of fun, wish I could come but it's a bit too far!
