I am now in my final year of school and will hopefully be going to sixth form, i have had my eyes set on farriery as a career path for a fair few years now, but i am still confused as to what i actually have to do to become a farrier (i know it involves farriery qualifications and a four year two month apprenticeship) but i could really do with it being talked over with me in more detail, can anyone help?

pretty sure you need to get an apprenticeship then study at college while training with a farrier, i think the best thing is to talk to your farrier he's the expert afterall!

Yeah, he is coming early this time, so i wont see him! I'm desperate for info at the moment, it seems a nice career path as you get to spend all day outdoors! only bad thing is when its cold and wet i suppose.. I'll be a spanish farrier!

Why not give your farrier a ring to discuss it and ask him if you can go out on the road with him during school holidays? Most farriers are happy to do this, to see if you like the idea when you have seen all that the job entails.

Exactly as I was going to suggest, most if not all the info you need is on the website.
