I'm looking for a yard that offers help in the way of assisted/part livery.

Must have good turnout and has a sand school.

Would consider Chelsfield, Orpington, West Kingsdown, Eynsford.

I was at speedgate a few years ago, not sure what it is like now or services it offers. I hear lots of good things about Capricorn Farm too which is Eynsford I think? I would def look there if I went back to the area. It's worth traveling the little bit extra out of Bexley or Swanley to get better hacking and grazing. I wish I had moved from Bexley sooner.

There are quite a few places, loads in west wick ham (wickham court farm) downe court in downe honey dale farm in swanley/foots cray loads in chelsfield and knockholt area which is near orpington

Thank you for replying

I've now phoned up so many yards in these areas that I thought might be suitable but none of them really want kids!

My little girl is 9 and I'm always with her and its me thats does the pony during the day. Just can't understand why so many yards are against having kids!

If you know of any that are child friendly that I've missed please do let me know :(. All she wants is another kid at the yard that she can play ponies with

kemnal manor in chislehurst used to allow kids....most of the bigger bexley yards do but i wouldn't class them as decent...
down court good but not in area you asked for,
capricorn ment to be amazing but again think its no kids...

sorry not much help but there is a serious lack of decent yard in those areas...

I'm on one of the bexley yards at the mo, reason why I'm trying to get away from them!

Think I may need to search a little further out to find a nice yard. I may ask around the pony club that my daughter belongs to which covers meopham, hartley, new ash green and surrounding areas as surely these children are on child friendly yards.

Thank you for your suggestions x

Hello,
I can't help specifically as I don't know any yards in the area (but was born in Farnborough Hospital!). But would it be worth seeing if there are any riding schools that also take liveries as then there may be more kids around for her to be with. I kept my first pony in a place like that and it was great fun. :)

Hi

Think I've found a yard but its full at mo.....typical!! Its a 20 mins run for me thou but think it will be worth it.

If anyone knows of a child friendly yard in meantime thou please let me know.

Wasn't keen on keeping my pony at a riding school as most of them are very commercialized and have those mad teenagers I'm trying to get away from. They normally don't have good turnout either.

Just a yard with one or two other young children who are under parent supervision would be ideal.

such a shame that some parents/children ruin it for others.

I would stay away from bexley as there is no grazing and mostly large yards with lots of kids!

hmmm trying to think of yards for you - Capricorn will take children but i think they have to be over 10yo (ill check)

x

Carne have you tried Guilden Hill? It's literally about 100ft from The Old Mill, just outside Swanley Village. Used to have lots of kiddies around the DIY bit (when I was there it was split between DIY and full). Haven't been there for 12 years, so no idea what it's like now, but it's another to check!

Thank you very much didn't think there were any yards along there so will try and find a number or take a little trip and have a look :-)
