Does anyone know of any ‘project’ or just good value horses for sale?

3 to 7 years old, 14.2hh or bigger, up to £900, preferably Midlands area.

I’m offering a 5*, experienced, long term home with 100% love, care and attention.

The horse will not go without anything, I will keep him or her to the highest standard but I just haven’t got that much for the initial outlay due to a recent bad break up.

Owner would be welcome to visit the horse I currently loan (until the end of July).

Know a rising 4 y/o 14hh native mare that needs a desperate new home. Not had any interest in her and she is up for peanuts...Nice sporty little mare for a native with nice movement, no vices or issues anywhere she is literally just a blank canvass for someone with time to start giving her a job as just lobbed out in the field. Have a look on my post yesterday regarding anyone had one they couldn't sell for pics if of any interest :)

Or if wanting a bit more quality and height but for a good price, know of a breeder with a good selection of qualilty rising 3 cob types for around that price, mostly proper bred traditional types but there are a few 'cheaper' ones which aren't as hairy/heavy but would make lovely coloured plaiteds or similar :)

She is quite diddy bless her, I'm 5ft9/5ft10-ish and about 12 stone and feel far too big for her to do anything.
Probably because she has a blue eye [not a wall eye, just one random blue coloured eye!] and is unbacked and not done a lot, she's halter broke, leads, ties, stables, loads, etc but that's been about it! Though the price she's at reflects that.

I'm near Swindon/Oxford border :( though have transport if anyone seriously wanted her

I know of a chunky TB, ex racer, used to do a bit with him myself when he was on the same yard, lady that has him has never really done anything with him as she's more of a mature owner and too big for her and never really had time, he can jump, will take a fews months to bring him back into easy work, before building on his schooling, he's never really been in continual work but never put a foot wrong when I used to ride him in the school but that was a few years ago, done nothing since just been out at grass, he loads well.
In Yorkshire, not seen him for a long while so can't vouch for what he's like now condition wise, but I know the owner is after a good home for him and he will be a good price.
Pm me if you want more info.

Thanks Kenzo. How old would he be now do you think?

Im really worried, I don't think I'll cope if I have to be horseless, it's what keeps me going.

I need to win the lottery!!

Look on preloved. I have had little interest in samba and I get the feeling so have many others people selling for 1200 / 1300 may be willing to drop. But I'm a believer in fate so she's prob staying with me. Infact after today I give up selling her. Some idiot woman somehow wound her up something chronic, she came back from a hack dripping wet snorting. They said she just started up for no reason. They also smashed the bit on her teeth when taking her bridle off ! She's keeps tucking her bum up when I walk behind, I wonder if they gave her a smack? She's never been like that on a hack not even when she was chased by a dog! Grr sorry rant over.

i know of a lady really in need of a new home for her cob as she has lost all confidence on him (despite the fact he is a real gem - but once you lose your confidence it can be hard to get back, especially at her age)
He has lovely light paces for his cobby type and his manners are lovely.

He is advertised for more than your £900 but i think there is alot of room for negotiation to the right home, so always worth a phone call.

here is his ad - http://www.horsemart.co.uk/cobs_horse_5_yrs_14_2_hh_coloured_west_midlands/advert/176595

he is in walsall.

I have a dark dappled grey (really pretty) 16.2hh, TB mare, 8 yrs old, she is very quiet & good in all ways but is a TB so needs experienced person really.

She windsucks but is great in all other ways, I will be selling her for £1,000.

But .... I'm down in East Sussex so may be too far.

i know of a 14.2+ 3 yo danish WB cross filly, lunging/long reined and sat on a few times. really nice osrt wouldl do any job. Loads, ties up etc. Really lovely filly, not big enough for my friend but she wants a nice home for her

PM me for more details we're in cheshire

my friend has many horses for sale, he does his own breaking and schooling services, he's based in Leeds. A very nice boy and a fantastic rider. He has some amazing horses come out of his yard, TBs cobs anything. PM me if you want any details.

A 5yo 15.1hh TB advert was whizzed around our RC email today, done a bit, had a break needs bringing back to work. £600. PM me your email and I'll forward on.

I have a nice 20 year old gelding almost 17hh (Cassidy on my website www.thestablesatmillgreen.co.uk) available for free permanent loan and not too far from Staffs. We also have a stunning 15hh cob who has been well and truly scared and needs to be restarted and learn to trust. He is not for the inexperienced, he gets so scared he bolts but if you can teach him to flex and circle he could be got through it - I don't have a suitable work rider to do that. Probably very very cheap or permanent loan - but we will not let him go unless we are satisfied he won't hurt himself and anyone who rides him, so you need to be a very very good experienced rider to even consider him. But he is really nice on the ground, a real pet, and a good field mate, never gets into any bother.

Hi there JillA,

Thank you for your post. Although I understand that I am limited by my budget, one thing that I am certain on is that I want a young horse (so I have lots and lots of years with him or her!)

Would you post a picture of the cob please?

I know of a TB. 16.1hh, 7yrs, bay gelding who has all the potential in the world, but can be a bit of an idiot. His owner doesn't have the time to devote to him anymore. PM me if you'd like her number!

Thank you Warmblood39 but that is way out of my price range unfortunately!

I have a good job so can provide well for a horse but due to a bad break up I haven't got the initial money to outlay unfortunatley.
