Anyone know of any good yards South Wales?

Im probably a bit too far for you, but I know of a couple of yards in Swansea. Do you want M4 corridor, or are you happy to go Gower way? There are a couple of good yards down there. Skewen any good? They have good facilities but hacking is awful (all busy roads). Im sure there is somewhere Bridgend way?

Ets: Ask Zigzag, she is Gower area. Sarah&Murphy, quite a few of us.

Im ideally looking somewhere I can travel quickly and easily. I work in Pyle (next Jnct towards Cardiff after Port Talbot) I currently travel about 15minutes so anything there or less would be acceptable.

What about Kay Milburns yard just outside Pyle on the A48, think it was called EKM equestrian. I used to keep my horse there years ago, she had quite a good school, nice stables and plenty of parking. I think she's still running it so may be worth a call??
Sorry don't have number but should be in yellow pages? Or go and see Huw Thomas the saddler in Kenfig Hill, he'll know where the good yards are??
Good luck!

EKM is full only and the last time I was there it was £70 per week. I wouldnt mind full - but it would need to come in aroud what Im paying now - which this doesnt!

What about Pentitla farm? Its about 10mins up the road from EKM. Susan Howells runs it, think she offers all services, not as well run as EKM but cheaper. Excellent hacking straight into forestry, no roadwork. They've got a boarding kennels there so hava a look on yell.com for that to get the tel no if its any good as I doubt she advertises the livery. If you can't find it I may have it somewhere?

Pentitla Farm, Pen-Y-Bryn, Kenfig Hill Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan CF336RB

Try at lunchtime and ask for Susan (her elderly mother will probably answer!)

Not sure what the place is like now, was there years ago so don't blame me if its a hole!!!!

Will do - cant ring in work so I think he'll have to wait until the weekend now as I know he shuts before I get home (lucky get!)
Thanks for that number, I will give them a ring and see how the land lies with them at the mo. x

can I butt in on this thread?
i am also looking for a yard in south wales but i am looking for one within a short drive of swnsea?
preferably DIY or part, with a school?
does anyone know anywhere that is ok, as I am not from the area so dont have a clue!
thanks

My sister owns a lovely livery/riding school near bridgend.

Modern stables, 2 schools plus indoor, jumping paddock and round pen. BHS has done the checks for livery and riding school/trekking registration and all is set for becoming the first ridingschool/trekking centre/livery yard in South Wales to have all the approved BHS certifications.

The hacking is to die for, beaches, woodland trails, a ford to plough through!

A very organsied yard with nice grooms with qualifications and of course you will get the chance to have lessons on your horse should you want them.
