I was supposed to be picking my sons new pony up on Saturday, ready for his birthday on Sunday. The lady just sent me a text message to say she couldn't let him go. Can't believe she didn't even ring and its been arranged for a while that he would come in time for my sons birthday. That is unbelievably cruel. Need a replacement pronto!
 
I am so sorry to hear that, poor lad hope hes not too upset.
What ru after, i have a 12.1hh Secton a mare, DoDo that i may be selling.

Well he doesn't know yet, i am kind of hoping i can find something else so that it is not so much of a let down. I am on the pembrokeshire/carmarthenshire border. Where are you?
 
I wouldn't rush into anything just to fit the birthday - that would be daft.

I would tell your son on his birthday that as a present you are going to find him a pony and that you need him to help you - then you can take all the time in the world to find the right pony for him.

I agree with this. I think a fab idea would be to buy a head collar and lead rope and maybe a grooming kit. He'll unwrap them and then tell him they're going to be for his new pony that you are going to choose together

I have my son's pony for sale and we are in Llanboidy, Carmarthenshire (very close). He is a 13h palomino.
Done pony club rallies and camp, safe hack, loads, catches easy to handle. Has hunted, sone cross country, area dressage and loves his show jumping. Was happily jumping a 3 ft course with my son. 12 yr old gelding. £2k.

He is for sale because my 12 yr old son has decided to give up riding (too cool to sit on a horse these days!) and my daughter already has a 13h pony, so he needs a good home.
