I have decided to breed from my PRE filly myself next year instead of putting her on loan to be a broodmare, and wanted to know if anybody was aware of Stallions around the midlands/north west area. I know it a little late on in the season to start looking, but this is for next spring so wanted to find a suitable husband that will complement her good / bad bits. I think as she's a really good example of the breed so want to keep to having a pure breed foal (she's done well in breed classes so far to back up my view). I know about the breed website but it appears unless you are a member they dont allow access to very much info - your valued help would be gratefully appreciated.

thanks for the info, will pm silversons and find out more, would be great to see some youngstock as helpfull to find out what they produce.
its much harder finding PRE's who are not too large as they are tending to be too big for my little filly, shes only 15hh at present and I know she's going to grow still I dont want to put her to anything bigger than 15.2/3 for a first foal.
thanks for for the info so far, if theres any others out there please let me know, by pm if people prefer

Hi sorry I read your pm first, great pickies, he looks lovely, and the foals look really fantastic, I've just seen your in derbyshire also
Are you the lady who breeds with percheron mares? they look a lovely cross.
I will wait to hear back re pm sent.
many thanks for replying so quickly, I look forward to hearing more

Thankyou, yes I'm the lady that breeds Spanish normans. Canaveral is a cracking stallion but now at 18 rising 19 doesn't look the boy he did in his prime at the high school in Jerez, But i can live with that it's far better for his health. I don't really advertise him for stud but am happy to take the odd visiting mare. His first son was exported straight to Germany at weaning. He's a super example of the breed and very correct, he to is quite a fine boy all of his children so far have had super off the floor movement and standing at 15.1-2 is a nice height to.

My boy will be standing again next year near Bourne in South Lincs. His name is Macedonio-MAC. He has already produced some fanatstic stock although he is only 7yrs old. Very fertile and good with the mares! Your very welcome to come and see him.
If you go onto the BAPSH website and click on Breeding, you can look at a list of all the stallions standing and a list of breeders. You don't have to be a member.
If you intend to register the foal as a purebred you will need to apply for a Breeders Code (Codigo Ganadero) from Spain. It would be a good idea to do this as soon as possible, as the Spanish aren't very swift. Have a look on the Registry section or contact the Registrar. She will tell you what you need to do.
