Just wondering really, as two whether people have had them come back into full work?

i know they are most probally going to struggle with tracking up properly behind, but can it be corrected?

We (were) or are supposedly saying in the process of building up the strength with kyra at the moment vet and pysio were very happy with her saying she looked more sound the more work she did, when she had her MRI they said she did it incredibly bad,

Being honest what have been your horses outcomes with a SI injury?

Thanks x

is that sacrilliac? if so there was a horse at my old yard that had one of the worst cases the vets had ever seen and she came back into work did a bit of everything except jumping.

ignore if thats not what you meant.

I know of a horse that did his a few years ago! He is now back in full work, he is going to do a 1m showjumping class and a novice BD test next weekend. He just won two prelim BD tests today. Today was the first time i have seen him without his toe drag showing at all, the owner is amazing though as well. You would never have known!

like i say it does is in full work (albeit light due to loaners lack of time) she will be 20 this year i believe and still going really well.

Yes she does, other wise I expect it would be a different story. She was so bad when Jenny first saw her she said she would only do 2 treatments and then give up, as she wasn't hopeful of being able to make a difference

My KWPN has long-term chronic SI pain and certainly shows you he's in discomfort. He's on a bute a day to take the edge off and I don't feel it fair riding him as some days hes ok and others will bronc me round the village. Schooling and any competition is out of the question. The Animal Health Trust (Dr Sue Dyson) is an expert on SI and will look at your horse for you, at a cost!

Considering have him pts

My old TB had a SI injury when i bought him aged 11 (he was bought as a hack and not vetted).

Had physio out and he said no jumping over 3ft, although he was sound to do what i wanted. He couldnt treat the injury as it had already healed (probs did it a year prior to me buying him when he fell and broke his leg NH racing). He had regular physio to keep an eye on it.

The long term probs were that He lacked impulsion, was slightly unlevel behind, dragged his back feet slightly and often took a short stride behind, but was sound and happy to hack.

A year later we found he had KS & navicular too and had to be retired.
