I'm still trying to find a horse to bring on myself, after a lot of heart ache and having a wonderful boy on loan I have now totally decided that it is time for me to get a new friend to bring up and keep so am searching all the sites known to man lol... seeing pretty much the same kind of horse over and over again.

I do not want to get duped either, as haven't bought a horse in such a long time so will need someone else to assist me in perhaps pinning my hands down on occasions.

I am looking for a cob type 6mth upwards but would prefer yearling - 2 yr olds. no real set budget as yet either to mature to about 15hh min would love a little geld colt to get gelded asap.
I certainly have the time and experience to do this, I am even selling my sports car lol.

Does anyone know of any sales coming up close to Essex? and should I be aware of any certain people? Pm me on this.

What about going to a Stud/breeder? If you are willing to travel to Wales (I went down to Hampshire for my grey and it was worth it) then you will have a vast choice of Sec D's (if you like them) at very good prices. Plus you will know their whole history. This is my personal preference when buying a horse (get it from the breeder - meet the dam, sire and half siblings).

My grey has stayed the same in her temperament from when I first viewed her as a weanling, so you really will be able to see which youngsters you 'click' with. Take a friend to help you be objective about conformation etc...

yes also consider direct from breeders wiling to travel for the right one but obviously not going to travel upto scotland lol

I do like Sec D's yes I have my eye on one at the mo in wales advertised on DD

There's a 3yr old welsh d mare on Facebook, she's 14.2 I think and for sale or loan. She's in Kent but can move.

This is her

She is nothing to do with me so I'm not advertising

I'm with you on this Merly. I am after a backed 4 yr old, as I want to be able bring it on to what I want to do.
I would search net for breeders of cob types and contact them. If they have something you like, go visit them.

Faracat... I am loving that palomino! Stunning, and those legs... Gasp! :)

Good luck!

yeah exactly being able to bring your horse on the way you want without it being ruined by anyone else, well this is the plan anyway :)
