Hi long time no post - we've been on hols.
I wonder if I could pick your brains.
The elderly mother of my YO has asked me to do some digging about a place who advertises in H&H every week and in some other places e.g. horse deals too.
Its a 1/8 page colour advert advertising ponies and cobs for £290 - £995 based down London way on the M25.
There is always a picture of a largish group of horses being held but no name on the advert just a phone number.
Does anyone know anything of them? I have visions of her and her other son trogging down there after a good "bargin" and being totally ripped off. She is convinced that these horses are cheap as they're coming in from Ireland and her husband picked up "some corking horses this way in the past". I hasten to add he's been dead for 17 years so things have changed a tad.
PM me if needed but I'm hoping with the HH wide net that someone must know who they are and if anyone has heard anything about them?
Hep really really appreciated even if its only to tell me I'm being a snobbish cynic!

There have been a lot of posts about this advert. Basically they are horses bought for meat money and have all sorts of problems. If they don't sell them to some unsuspecting person within a certain time, they go for meat. Don't touch and bargepole spring to mind.

Don't know them but I know the ad you mean, can't imagine they are much cop!

Yep! Know the ad! All ranging from £500 to £950.

No experience but from what people have said keep away. No bargains here!

My impression of them is far from good. In fact, I think most posts include the word "bargepole"

I'm glad its not just me thats an utter snob. I took one look and shuddered but bless her she's from an era when they bought horse from dealers and the gypsys and they got lovely horses and thinks this is the same thing.
Does anyone have a link to where any other posts on this might be? I want to show her peoples comments so she can see for herself that this is a really really stupid idea.

I bought a horse from there seveal years ago. We went with low expectations and were not disappointed!! The horse we bought (a 16 hh TB gelding) was very underweight, had open wounds and terrible teeth, but after some tlc and patience he was one of the nicest horses Ive known! I wouldnt go back though, was very naiive at the time and just hapened to get lucky with Indie. The place is certainly an eye-opener.
