No details on the Horsemart website but this is one for sale amongst others. They seem awfully cheap and not in the best condition but I am curious as looking for a quiet hack....

If you have had clear warnings then I would stay well away....

Just a thought but if you are just after a quiet hack - have you thought about contacting the veterans association? they often have nice horses for loan looking for a quieter life and you know that they will have been checked carefully to confirm what they are able to do. I looked into it for a friend who wanted to sell or loan her 16 hh ex eventer so he could have a quieter life and they had some nice horses on their books.

Thanks for all the info and pm's people... really don't fancy going to look although I have to say, if you read up on the court cases it seems the buyers really should have known better! Not that that's a defence for mis-selling of course.

Luci07 I had thought about doing something like that, but even though it's only for hacking I would be looking something fairly young and most definitely sound and able to do mid-distance rides. I recently lost my ex-racer aged only 13, partly due to narcolepsy and partly progressive arthritis so it's made me very wary of soundness issues.

oh dear, he sounds like Very Bad News.

His horses are all poor

wherever is he getting them from? All a certain type (I don't say breed as he may be lying!) and allegedly "imported from Ireland".

Hi hun, BIGGEST BARGEPOLE IMAGINEABLE!!!!!!!!!!! I have unluckly folk coming in the shop where I work who have been taken in and bought off this scumbag, one poor girls experience has resulted in her fracturing her neck riding a horse bought from him!! Need I say more!!! STEER WELL CLEAR!!!!

Sorry about shouting with the caps but I feel very strongly about this!!

PLEASE, PLEASE do not go there. I have personal first hand experience. He has been prosecuted by Trading Standards and he was the subject of a number of bad articles in H & H around three years ago. He used to be in Bishops Auckland trading as Westview Stables. His horses were alot more expensive then. I wonder if he's now going down the line of "you get what you pay for". Please be careful. If you check the internet you will see for youself.
