Got a phonecall from a friend of mine yesterday who would like to know if anyone knew of anything about Roger Hunt who breeds near a place called Penn near High Wycombe.

Breeds Welsh Section B and C from what she said - she does not have internet access at moment which is why i said i would ask on here - on her behalf.

It seems he has a stallion called Penn Dandy - but i dont know that much about them.

So any feedback about Roger Hunt and the horses he has bred would be good - which i can then pass onto her. Thank you everyone.

Roger has an excellent reputation locally. He's been a stud for decades :) His bloodlines are carefully produced and Dandy is a stunner- if i ever get my broodmare, then i would have him on my shortlist :)

Sorry - never heard of your chap and I only live about 5 mins away! However I know Ceri at: Brynseion Stud Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, UK. Tel: (+44) 01753 824811 has some wonderful Welshies - just in case you wanted a comparison.

Hi, I worked on the stud you mention around 10 years ago. Roger Hunt is a fantastic and highly selective breeder, who has a real passion for his horses.

Penn Dandy is indeed a stunner and has been sucessfully shown under saddle and in harness. I seem to remember that he was a champion at the Royal Welsh.

He is definatley a Section D stallion and when I worked for him section D was what he bred, though he may have diversified.

I would highly recommend your friend giving Roger a call, he's very amenable and more than happy to have a chat about the breed...also if it is particularly section B/C your friend is interested in, he should be able to point you in the right direction.

Hope this Helps
Helen
