I would urge you not to use anything that anyone has suggested until the vet has been and confirmed positive or negative for ringworm. That may require fungal culture which will take a while but it is definitely one for the vet.
There are a number of different things it could be but certain creams/lotions will make some things worse and some better so I really wouldn't do anything until you have a diagnosis. I am particularly over cautious at the moment as we are doing Dermatology this term and learning about many weird and wonderful things so perhaps a bit paranoid but best to be careful!
