i am looking to buy some feed bins as im moving yard (again grr) on sunday and need bins i can secure. ive seen one that would be perfect but i dont know where to get them.

they are basically blue plastic barrels, with a black lid and you can put a round metal clamp thingy around the top. either these or any other lockable bins will do (not expensive though lol)

if you know or know of anything similar please let me know
PM if you prefer
thankyou x

Do you really want to be moving to a yard where you have to lock your feed up?
I know some people used to have the plastic/metal trash cans and used to put chains round them...dont know how effective that was though, Also we used to have bug metal bins that you could padlock up for all our bits and bobs, dont know where we found them though.... sorry not much help really

its not a case of have to, id prefer too cos i dont know anyone on this new yard and would like to just incase someone has light fingers. preventative measure lol

most people have locks on their feed bins in there so... maybe there is something to worry about lol. i dont really know i just dont want to have to deal with it if it does go missing when it could've been stopped in the first place.

I have those bins - I got them from Derby House.

Just to add, have them because they keep chaff really fresh and moisture out of speedibeet not because I have to lock up my feed (have own lockable storage rooms behind stables!)

Depending on how much space you have, we keep all our feed in an old chest freezer. Brill for keeping rats out and all the feed is together which makes it quicker to mix it up. Easy to put a padlock on as well and we got the freezers free off freecycle!

I have been looking for some old chest freezers for weeks - Drive past my local pub this morning and BINGO!!

The builders refurbing the pub are throwing 4 massive chest freezers away!!

I have those blue bins...I live by Wrexham so could just pick them up. they are great and do keep the feed fresh and the rats out. I'm lucky though in that I don't need to lock them as i'm at a very small yard and I'm actually the only DIY liery so if feed went mising I would know it was the YO :-)

Mine didn't come with a round metal clamp thingy though.

do they say anything about delivery as I know they do advertise on ebay
