As mud fever is rife at the moment with the awful wet and muddy conditions in most of the country, I am looking for Proflavine. An old and successful way of treating mud fever was to mix surgical spirit with proflavine shake it together (this took a while) thoroughly clean and dry then smother with this mix. I want to use this method again, but can't seem to find a supplier of proflavine. Does anyone know where I can get hold of some.
Thanks in advance.

Only place I have seen it is in Radiol Antibacterial jelly. But might not be as strong as you want. Equestrian clearance sell it.

I was able to get 500ml bottles of proflavine from a local chemist.

They never stocked it but could order it in.

Fab stuff, I didnt mix it just used straight for a horse with photosensitivity.

I haven't ordered any for at least a year though but it was around £5 a bottle when I was getting it.

Thanks, was wondering if chemist could get hold of any, will nip down and ask tomorrow.

Unable to help with supplier, another vote for the wonderful stuff, I guard my 500ml bottle and its fab for lots of jobs, (maybe not on a white horse if you go showing!). Bump for you, please post if you get any joy.
