Anyone knows Rheidol Riding Centre outside Aberystwyth???

As titled, has anyone been to the Rheidol Riding Centre just outside Aberystwyth? I am thinking about having some dressage lessons there? Do they have schoolmasters, etc?

I used to know the owner Iola and her family, and she did compete, maybe still does, so probably has a decent horse or two about the place. Why don't you ring and ask?

Yes, I have ridden there 2 or 3 times. I had one flat and one jumping lesson there. I didn't particularly feel like I learnt anything from either lesson. Both horses I rode were older (probably in their 20s) and I felt a bit sorry for them as they felt tired and bored. The other time I went was with the university and I rode a fun little pony but that was for games. This was a couple of years ago though. As above, call and ask, but yeah, I didn't think that much of it but maybe I didn't give it a chance (although I couldn't really on uni budget).

Thank you both. I did look at the website and I believe the owner is Lola. I think I will give it a try and see what happens. Thanks again and I shall let you know how I get on in a couple of weeks time.

I went there once a few years ago but never went back after I was told at the start of the lesson, (before I had even asked the horse to walk on) "give him a good few whacks with your whip now so he realises you're not a novice"

Iola, not Lola (pronounced Yola if you aren't familiar with Welsh names). I'm quite shocked at the whip thing, didn't think they were like that but I have lost touch over the years.
