Anyone like polo?

ME ME!

I started off with no knowledge of polo (dressage background) but just started to play last year at uni and am addicted! Got myself a very sweet polo pony to practice and play on (cheaper than horse hire :))

Do let me know how the lesson goes and i'm sure you'll have loads of fun!

I've never done it, but its on my list of 'Horsey things to do this year' - I've always wanted to have a go, just not quite got round to it yet. will be really interested to hear how you get on if you do the course!

Your Uni has a polo team? You're lucky! My Uni doesn't:(

ohhh I'd love to have some proper polo lessons :) lucky youu!
I've been working at a local polo yard since just before christmas and have been to a few matches which have been great fun :) not had a massive chance to watch but it does look like fun!
Had a go on the ponies though and it's great fun :) useless at actually hitting the ball, but I like to pretend ;) hope you have loads of fun at your lessons

It's a very expensive sport though:( I'm a student and there is a club near my Uni, but £100 for a one hour lesson:(

It's a shame you can't hire a polo pony for a few months as there is a yard near my home and I could keep it there for free.

vindicated,

if you don't mind me asking, which Uni are you at?i'm at uni now and picked up the sport here! It's much cheaper than playing out of uni! The club here charges 30 quid an hour for a lesson and 15 for 1/2 hr stick and ball!

Daughter had a lesson arranged through pc & absolutely loved it! Looked into joining club but was gutted it was over £250 per year for juniors :(, have to stick to the odd lesson!!

I couldn't hold anything for hours after my first time!! I'm going to book another lesson now for next month (my birthday), need a gallop about on horses which actually stop!

haha! it took me about 4 or 5 lessons until my hand wouldn't shake afterwards! i'm so glad it's the summer so I can get lots of polo in :)

I keep meaning to book a taster day for polo but have not got round to it yet.

It is on my bucket list along with jousting (nearly impossible to find anyone to teach, seems to me self taught). Also I want to enter a local showjumping competition, but I think I will need to buy a horse first.

Leadenham polo club is really good, I had a taster day there a couple of years ago, not far from you either
