Sorry this is a bit long, but its been going on for a long time and I'm at my wits end.

Last Aug my horse was unlevel in front (left fore). No heat or swelling, nothing to see. Vet thought mild tendon strain so rested for 6 weeks, course of bute, very gradual build up back to normal work (hacking, schooling, jumping).

Just before easter horse unlevel again, this time right fore. Vet thinks bruised sole, farrier re-sets shoes, seemed ok. Also had saddle checked & back lady out - all ok.

After a couple of weeks he seemed not quite right again, gradually getting worse so got the vet back. Still no heat or swelling and nothing to see. My vet was on holiday so had a locum who flexion tested all 4 legs and thought DJD is left fore and right hind.
Had my own vet yesterday who nerve blocked the foot (was hoping to do the fetlock as well but my horse was a complere pratt!) and did x-rays on near fore. Rang him today and he says the joint looks completely normal so he doesn't think its a joint problem. He looked at the tendon yesterday and said that seemed fine too. He's coming back Friday to do more nerve blocks to see if its definately the fetlock or higher up.
Meanwhile I'm no wiser and my horse is getting more lame.

Am thinking of offering a prize to anyone who can give me a clue - any thoughts?

Very odd?? Def not puss infoot? or maybe a kick to shoulder? (had both those this month- aarrgh) I wonder if a physio or equine osteo could do anything? Not a very good vet person I am afraid but will send good luck vibes your way as I know it is annoying having a lame horse. ((((())))))

Is horse insured? I so would recomend a bone scan. Otherwise 'black box' its hair and see if they come up with anything.

Google crossgatesfarm. (don't know how to do a link sorry)

All I can say is snap..

Front near fore
Nerve blocked, x-rayed, all clear
5 days bute
12 weeks box rest

Still currently lame, diagnosis, soft tissue damage!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
Farrier is due again on Friday so will get him to have a prod around. No sign of a kick. I've been wondering about a problem in the shoulder but both vets have focussed on the leg. Think I'll quiz him about it Friday.
He is insured, but I'm only covered for 50% of MRI scans. My vet said they cost about £1500 so unfortunately that would have to be a last resort. Haven't heard about black box - what is it? Happy to consider anything at the moment.

Isn't it frustrating!!!
