Someone rang me a little while ago re: horse slashing/stealing in Immingham, Caistor and somewhere else...is it anything to do with this?

yes it is. What info do you have? I am on a trail
I have checked out some more info kindly given by a member which is real with a red land cruiser at Sudbrook. I have spoken to the police and have emailed the officer dealing.
The radio item was from a shop owner who had been told things by customers. The paper from the area would not do a news item as there was not enough evidence. I have spoke to the shop owner and some of it is real for sure. Trouble is the police need crime numbers to look up incidents. Suspicious does not get a crime number. They get 100's of calls and have not been able to turn anything up for me. When i speak to the officer that dealt with the incident at Sudbrook i may get more info as officers talk to each other.
I am trying to decipher fact from fiction. We need a real picture not histeria and rumour. Horse thefts occur regularly anyway.
I have been contacted about false thefts where i keep my horses, it doesn't help. By the way in the real for sure incident horses were not taken
I did tell the person that sent me the info i checked it out as i don't know them, but i am so glad they did contact me as it is real.
I don't know any more than what I said I'm afraid. I recieved a phonecall and I can't even recall whether they asked had I seen the news or heard the news...so I don't even know if it was on the television or just the Lincs FM news that you heard.
They simply said that they'd heard of these three different areas targeted, Immingham, Caistor and the one that I couldn't remember, Sudbrook you said, and that horses had been slashed/stolen. I asked how they'd know that they'd been slashed if they'd been stolen (not the sharpest knife in the drawer me lol) and they sounded rather exasperated as they explained it was the horses that weren't stolen that were slashed. I asked if it were seperate incidents, ie a/some horse/s stolen from one place and again slashed in another, or if a horse/s were stolen and the remaining horse/s slashed, but they didn't know. I decided it was too 'third hand' to take particularly seriously if you catch my drift, I have my horse and pony at home and am as vigilant as I can be, and I'd wait until I found some better sourced info before posting or spreading the message....
If I'd read this earlier I'd have asked the RSPCA Inspector who visited...he seemed to know everything.....pmsl
