Anyone live near Whitchurch, Shropshire?

There was a thread on here just a few days ago with a number of folk in that area if you have a search. I'm sure someone will be along shortly :).

I will take any help I can get! lol Not sure where to start. I have just found out I will be moving there in 6 - 8 weeks time! Need to find somewhere for me to live and somewhere for 2 horses!

It would be worth calling Tushingham arena I seem to remember they have a few liverys as well as being a show venue if not they may well know someone..good luck

Ideally I am looking for DIY who can offer some part livery services if needed ... for example if I'm away or have to work late ocassionally.

I have a 4 year old hanoverian so need some decent facilities and a safe and secure yard. I also have my old cushings pony so need somewhere with small / laminitic safe paddocks.

Only just found out I'm moving today so this is my first bit of research. I don't know the area at all so was after some insider knowledge lol

I would give Tushingham a call, they would know of any good yards in the area. Really nice helpful people.

The 2 yards mentioned by spit it out or 5 mins from me and both very good, but are based on the outskirts of Nantwich, which id imagine is a bit far.

Good luck in your search, its great county:D

You could also look at Bramble Livery but you will need transport to get there. http://www.bramble-livery.co.uk/ There's also Hadley Farm, right on the outskirts which does have it's own arena and XC course but I can't help with their facilities. http://www.hadleycrosscountry.com/
Edgemere Saddlery at Hampton near Malpas might know of more yards and there is usually a few adverts in the vets at Hampton too plus at Corbetts, the feed merchants (all 3 within 300 yards of each other) I'm due to go to Corbetts later this week, I'll have a look for you and make a note of any numbers, same if I go to Countrywide in Whitchurch itself. Do you know which side of W/church you'll be based, it'll give us some idea of where to look.

I was in c'wide today and there were two ads in there for livery, sorry don't remember the names of them but think they were small private yards, as above try giving edgemere etc a ring they are v v helpfull and should give details of any adds, can't help with recommendations as have own yard, sadly have no room or would have offered to help as temp measure, it's a lovely place to have horses so hope to bump into you soon :)

I have seen signs for a livery yard just down the lane from Tushingham, don't know what facilities they have. As Maesfen says Hadley Farm has its own arena and cross country course but I have a feeling they only do DIY. However a friend used to keep her mare there and I know they used to share turn out /bring in etc with other liveries so that could be a possibility. I saw another livery yard advertised in Countrywide with a name very similar to Hadley Farm, possibly Hadley Hall. I don't go in to CW often so Maesfen or Bennions Field might get there before me but I will certainly try and find out the name.

I'm going to be working out of Whitchurch Hospital but no idea where I'm going to be living yet! That's something I'm trying to sort out too lol

Did you manage to contact tushingham arena??? they had /have holiday accomidation might be a good off season deal going , gives you a chance to get your bearings perhaps ...

Agree with MM depending on where you live of course.
Went into CW yesterday and as BF said, two adverts were for private yards which didn't have schools although one had individual turnout. The one that stood out was Hadley Hall though, seems to have all that you need, number is 07889 855216. This is their planning permission to give you some idea.http://doc.cheshireeast.gov.uk/NorthgatePublicDocs/07107070.pdf

There are several places for rent in and around Whitchurch so you should be able to find something quickly even if it's just to tide you over for a while. Several of the B & Bs do long term lodgers too (can def' recommend one but it's near Malpas which isn't far from both Tushingham or work.
