In our local mag, there is someone selling several youngsters, one of them.. 16.2 4yo bay geld by bandmaster (broken)... £950?! :O i was very tempted to ring up myself, but we are too poor ;) although i have a feeling theres probably a catch!

We have been looking for a project for a while now and are finding that if something is cheap there is usually a reason

The nice gelding we travelled a 250 mile round trip to see last night was fine until he started running out with their rider and guess what, "he's never done that before". Hhmmmm...

Anyone with a genuine project let me know!

I recently bought a project....
The project was supposed to be breaking him....

He wont stay in a stable, rears and tries to jump out. Rears up in hand coming in and out of the field etc. Breaking him is turning out to be easier than teaching him basic manners!

I wouldn't change him though, he's got bags of character and is slowly getting better. My project will just last two summers instead of one!

Ive got a feeling its a misprint!! I saw it advertised with all the others a couple of weeks ago and im sure it was either £2950 or £3950. Reckon they have missed off the first number

Not all projects/cheap uns are doom and gloom, but for my projects i do tend to buy unbacked then hopefully less issues. Just on with a project at the minute - lovely 4yr old bought a few months ago for a good price , not going to have time to continue education over winter with uni so this horse would make someone a nice project to bring on and compete more as horsey has had correct start and all basics established. No rush to move horsey on though, can have a break over winter and progress further next spring.

Yes I have to say if it's cheap it's normally for a reason, but with regard to travelling to see horses, my friend went to see a 'not so cheap' horse, travelled half the day to see it barely making an outline, and then start to windsuck in the stable afterwards, would have been nice if the seller had told my friend beforehand about the vice!!! Wasted day and diesel!!

But some bargain project horses really are out there, unfortuantely you just have to do a lot of sifting first, unless you are lucky!! YO's just got a new one, x race filly 4 year old, no injury just not fast enough, and she is the most genuine thing ever!!
