Hi,
I have moved to Preston, Cirencester and need to rent a field with either 2 stables or a good sized field shelter, as I have 2 youngsters, 1 new forest gelding and one welsh d colt , as one is a colt I cant have him at the main livery yards in the area,
I have the new forest as a companion for him, so as soon as he is either gelded or had something else so go out with, I will probably sell the new forest, but for now I dont want to geld him as he will be 2 in may and dosent have much neck at the moment and I want him to chunk up a bit, also he acts like a gelding so he isnt a problem at the moment.
any ideas welcome as at the moment they are over an hour away with my mum!:(

Sorry, not aware of a field to rent (if I was then tbh we would be there!!). Have you tried all the yards? There are loads round here so one of them might be ok for your colt? Def worth a call anyway. There is the RAC place at Coates too, they might be able to take colts? Yards more designed for the comp horse might be worth a try too - more likely to come across stallions than a normal happy hacker type yard possibly? Good luck! It's a gorgeous area!

Have a look on Cirencester Park/ Bathurst website at their letting page, last time I looked they had various paddocks at Siddington on the Old Talland site up for lease. Five minutes from Preston.

I will give them a try, the problem is there seems to be quite alot of individual turn out which means I would need to keep his companion with him to go out with as he cant go out on his own and I cant afford to keep both of them at a main yard that charges £30pw+ im spoilt at the moment I have a private yard with 2 stables, tack room, paddocks etc and I pay £30pw for the whole lot! I just need to move it here!
thanks for your help though, where can i find the names numbers of some of the livery yards? have rung all I can find on the internet, just wondered if there was anywhere else? :)

Thanks Dotty had a look and think it might be an old ad as it says for the 2010 season, but will definately give them a ring on monday incase they have some coming up this year x

I used to keep my horse at Plummers Farm in Siddington, don't know if they still do livery, the owner actually lives at the farm on the right on the road from Siddington to South Cerney, Dryleaze Farm. He may be able to help, his name was Richard, can't remember his surname......was 15-20 years ago!!

Plummers farm in siddington doesn't do individual turnout usually, so you might be able to rent a field for your two from them? Can't believe I forgot the bathurst ones! Def give the estate a ring. Their website is normally very up to date so I would imagine if they are still up then they are still available. Bit further from you, but you could also see if the miserdon estate have anything. They don't advertise particular things but invite you to call up if you are after something.
