Could any of you kindly South West Peeps please give us a weather update on the Hartpury area?

Baydale and I are travelling over tomorrow for the Eventing Forum (which is on Monday) from Lincolnshire, which is becoming more like a winter wonderland (pah ) every minute. We would very much appreciate (a) not getting stuck in a snow drift, and (b) not getting there to find it's been cancelled :(

Metoffice is forecasting rain for Gloucestershire yet the Hartpury website says their BSJA is cancelled tomorrow due to the snow

I was meant to be show jumping today (well our time was 9 in the evening) at Hartpury and it got cancelled as the roads were icy but it's warming up and currently it's raining so if it stays this mild then it should all be fine.

The reason the BS is cancelled is because the hill down into the college itself is lethal yet people were still attempting it today with horses which was rather worrying.

ETA: Wouldn't worry about snow we've had about 2cms which has promptly been washed away by the rain. :)

Yay! Good news, thank you :D

So all we need to do now is dig ourselves out of Lincolnshire and we're all set!! ;)

ETA: I meant good news about the weather conditions getting better and not about your cancelled SJ, of course :o

Nice to see a comp centre being responsible and cancelling. I look set to lose entry fees tomorrow as centre near us says 'conditions are good' depite the roads being lethal and people being advised not to travel. We have huge drifts across our track, only thing going down that tomorrow will be the tractor with a bucket on to clear it.

That's bad Thistle - everything round here has cancelled despite us getting only approx 20mins of rubbish snow, it then pouring with rain and it now being 3.9 degrees! Summerhouse have moved their eventer trial to next weekend because they don't want people to travel if it's dangerous but are running CR round the track if you can get there, and Badgworth have cancelled BSJA.

I would be happy to lose , say £5 for admin, or perhaps have credit for future comps, anyway, MM and Baydale, hope you have a good day out. I'm meant to be flying to Geneva to go skiing for a few days on mon. I fail to see the irony!

BTW it's -25 in the Alps so stop moaning about the cold!

All the roads that are being used are fine but there is still a bit of slush on roads not being used as much but it's warming up so by this afternoon it probably would have melted. :)
