As title really - anyone on here play? I've always wanted a go, though I'm not renowned for my skill with a ball, and I'm taking my little lad to trainingy taster thingy tomorrow :)

A few on my yard do and I had a dabble when I had my 14.3 cob it was very fun - Would love to have carried on but would need to loose weight and trade in the 17hh boy (although suitable I couldnt touch the ground, could only pick up from one side o0n coblet....) to do that which isnt going to happen!

No but I keep getting nagged to go and try it out. If it's fun perhaps I will. But as I can't throw I doubt I'll be much cop!

Aye, Snowy, that's why I'm glad of my little 14,2 pony! 17hh is just making life hard for yourself! (Though he's lovely and much better suited to other sports, I'm sure! :D)

I'll let you know ;) I am pretty hopeless at throwing and catching, I fear picking up off the floor will result in me faceplanting into the sand and it will be a miracle if the pony manages not to explode, given his current energy levels and the fact he's had all weekend off since Friday

So, I'll rephrase that: I'll let you know... if I survive :D

I don't actually think it would be much worse than any other sport in that sense tbf - I presume you're thinking of the pick up, which is surely no worse than kids doing mounted games on wee ponies. The rest of it is no worse than polo / polocrosse. In fairness all sports carry those sorts or risks - think of an sjer or an eventer landing heavily on those weak knees etc...
