Any good books on teaching a horse to lunge and long rein. Just been on the BHS website and there are quite a few on there but just wondered which was the best. I know my baby isn't old enough yet to start with this sort of work (21 months) but want to be prepared before hand and have the necessary equipment and information at the ready. I lunged Margo regularly but she kind of just did it by herself. Want to get it right with this horsey!!!

I recently bought Lunging & Long-reining by Jennie Loriston-Clarke and it is very helpful! I'd highly recommend it

Have a look at the Jennie Loriston Clarke DVD series. I got one for christmas and although it was recorded a long time ago (when Humbug & Decipher were being backed), it is very interesting with many useful tips on starting your youngster. I think Rideaway and Derby House sell them..

Suggest you PM Henmen, I dug out a couple of old books for her when she aquired her mare and wanted to start off, but don't recall the titles of them now, but they were good books
