After another duff and feeling a bit depleted, thought Id see if anyone fancies helping me find a nice cob type north england / south scotland. Hack alone in company, tolerates the school for an odd intro test and not half ugly to look at? 14.1-15.2

I know who knew it was so hard, finally seen as the gold they are it seems - tempted to just buy a youngster and be done with it !

Look at Hansome Horses…Stamfordham, James Jopling brings in ready made and youngsters from Ireland. It’s where we bought our just broken 3 year old from…not a fancy set up but worth a look.

Saw a lovely 5yo yesterday for sale (but I'm in NI) which desperately needs liberating from the dealer, who is hell bent on screwing his nose into his chest - I nearly bought him myself to get him away. Also K&K cobs have some lovely unbroken 4yos. For when you give up looking in Scotland and England :)

Yes - really hard, I have bought a youngster. There are youngsters for sale and older cobs but not much in between. Obviously the bigger ones tend to be from Ireland. We recently sold mum's lovely cob who was too small for me, on the first viewing. Whether my youngster will be the right boy for me, is to be seen. There are some lovely cobs at yards for sale down here but a long way from you.

Sue Shuttleworth has some lovely cobs advertised from time to time.

I bought one from her.

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions, but I do think these sorts are hard to find- and when people find a good one they tend to hang onto them. As has been mentioned, they are also very in demand for riding schools etc.

Is it worth trying a wanted ad on some of the cob facebook groups?

Thanks all sorry for slow response thought id found one but sold the viewing before me (on first viewing). I might have to start considering from ireland but like to sit on them first!
