Anyone seen one of these before?

I'm looking for a reasonably priced synthetic dressage saddle for my WB and came across this.

Surely a self adjusting gullet doesn't work? If it was that straightforward wouldn't other saddles be made like this as well?

I had the GP version of this, I had a horse on loan and the saddle he came with didn't fit (no clearance over his withers at all!). I didn't want to spend a huge amount and this seemed like a good idea as I though I'd be able to use it on others in the future.
It was ok for the price, fitted better than the one he came in and was comfortable BUT is not all it's cracked up to be. It's not very well made, it looked tatty very quickly and does not fit as well as a properly fitted saddle.

TBH if i was looking for another synth. dressage saddle, I wouldn't go much further than my Wintec Isabelle - I feel really comfy & secure in it!

Of course, that is if the Wintec shape fits your horse!

Thanks, wasn't seriously considering it, was more curious really! Having had a saddle that didn't fit and hurt Daisy's back I would never go for something that wasn't professionally fitted.

They use these at the school my boy was at, and I thought they were a good idea. I am now wondering if they might be what started off his headshaking as ill fitting tack can be a trigger.

Wouldn't touch one of those saddles with a very long barge pole.

If the hinge adjusts to the horses width when you put the saddle on, then what? The rider gets on and moves about, rising trot, etc. Whats to stop the hinge moving backwards and forwards. If you put pressure on a flexible object from above it will spread and the top of the object will get lower. Disaster waiting to happen on a horses back!
