I bought Horse Deals today and whilst flicking through saw an advert for a 15hh irish cob gelding, which I'm sure I've seen about 2 years ago in other magazines- same picture and everything. It just seems a bit odd to me- btw I'm not trying to insinuate anything by this thread- it may be genuine- I'm just curious because it seems odd that the exact same advert/picture is still being advertised 2 years later (although from what I can remember £200 more expensive.) Will try and find a link.

Yep....I think there's quite a few posts on that dealer.... Dartford dealer or something I think?

I won't say nymore...google it yourself :)

Is it the one with a black and white photo? If so it is for a dealer and for more info on them google the phone number.

Pm me if you want details of this dealer!
What are those long wooden things that are a bit like oars? um.... you would use them on a canal boat? um.... think it's called a barge? um .....like oars? um .....poles? um..... could be, I wonder?.......Yes! I've got it! A barge pole!!!!!

I've only read a few things but definitely get the gist of this dealer! Why do Horse Deals still advertise his horses? Can't he be stopped from advertising?

It's not just HorseDeals...

As far as i'm aware, good old H&H still take his money.
But, as I don't subscribe to H&H any longer I'm not too sure.

I'll be blunt - barge pole, bloomin big barge pole, definately needed! And yes he was subject to a watchdog sting operation. I went there once with a friend and was absolutely horrified.
I agree why do they continue to advertise these people?

This same advert has been going for at least the last 18 years. You phone up- they say this horse is sold but they have something simelar. If you do end up going and buying something and it goes wrong, you have no advert to refer back to which says 'no vices' etc.

To be honest I don't see how people can moan about this dealer. They go into his yard with their eyes wide open. The only thing that atttacts them to him is the price. It's obvious you are not going to get a 16hh 8 yold allrounder sound and with no vices for £795!! Anyone who thinks differently shouldn't own a horse. All the time people are buying them he is going to stay in business. I can't stand people buying one from him, get it home, nothing to what he says, and then moan! Come on, surely people cant be that gullable???

I suppose novices with no support or advice, people desperate for a horse who cant afford to buy one, people wanting to 'rescue' a horse from a dealer..

The photo has been around for donkeys years. We once drove from Yorks to Kent with the horsebox to see a horse at this yard because the (very detailed and lengthy) discussion on the phone made it sound absolutely perfect. Got there, took one look at the yard, and drove back home again.

Where does he getting his horses from to be able to sell them so cheap? Is it the same person iv seen in horse and hound all the time with a lad holding a big range off horses in his hands, like 8 or 9 and all priced £500 - £800 ish ? And they are mainly cob types

I read on another forum that he goes and buys a load at sales every week for cheap, then if he doesnt sell them sends them back to the sales
