Anyone seen this awful advert?

I agree - she is being direct and honest (albeit blunt!).
If more people were this straight talking when buying/selling/loaning then we'd all have an easier time!

Advert OK to me. I can identify with her regarding numpty buyers. She is just being honest ant trying to avoid timewasters (of which there are many).

Age and height would be helpful information to have...

I'm under her weight limit, but I've no way to know whether he is over my height limit! And that ad doesn't exactly make me feel like taking the time to call her, after all he doesn't look like a particularly special horse - nice I'm sure, but not good enough to put up with that attitude for.

Can't see anyone brave enough to go and view! I personally hate timewasters but unfortunately that comes with selling anything! I would like to go and see it for a laugh!

I dont venture in NL much, preferring the safer confines of CR. However, you really are a judgemental lot, and I suspect I will get pilloried badly for what I am going to say, but I have broad shoulders and dont actually give a dam.

I dont actually blame her for putting that in the advert. There are loads of tyre kickers out there, and if thats what she wants, good luck to her. Its her horse and she can obviously calls the shots. OK, I agree its a bit blunt and maybe the horses age and height might help, but what the hell. It makes a change from all the usual **** that goes in adverts, along with over-use of the word 'stunning' and 'potential'. Good luck with it, hope you find a nice home for him.

I am not one to put up with **** from a potential buyer, and in the past, have asked people to leave my yard because of the comments and **** that comes out of their mouths (usually the know it all know nothing instructors!) However, with this attitude, no wonder she didn't sell it first time round! Who would want to deal with her when there are plenty of nice horses out there.

She sounds like a Numpty herself! It's hardly wonder horse!

I think that she's being brutally honest about her opinions - and to be honest - good on her for trying to find the sort of home that she would like for her horse!

AND I think that the horse is great! I suspect that he's a really good, honest, reliable, fun Clydesdale! I have a Clydesdale x WB and you won't find a better natured/temperament or horse anywhere! If I could afford to have him I would!

the problem isnt the bluntness!! its the complete lack of information, assuming its everyone else with the problem and not her!

if she hasnt put height/age why would anyone assume the horse couldnt take over 12.5 stone? it could be a big horse with a tall rider for all we know!

anyone that will view a horse without basic info is a 'numptie' and so she's just advertising to the people she wants to avoid.

nothing wrong with blatantness, but if you're going to be forthright you might aswell make sure you arent at fault yourself first or you just look silly!

I think she may have been having a bad day! I agree, if you don't put on size and age how does anyone know enough about the horse, but having been in the position of both selling and loaning nice horses, I was astounded by the people we had come to see them. Fromthe lady who couldn't even pick up my very well mannered horse's feet to the supposed 'expert' who came to oversee her pupil try the horse we had for loan who had had suspensory ops behind (could work nicely at prelim and novice but not beyond, hence loan) who said he didn't step through enough in leg yield! Aaaaagh!!

Fair enough, be blunt but to omit fairly essential information about said horse - ie) height, age, manners on the ground etc just makes her come across as a complete 'numpty' herself (urgh I hate that word).

I'm all for weeding out potential time wasters but come on, this woman sounds absolutely vile! I bet you'd get a right gob full from her if you dared to phone up!

That horse was flagged up on here a few months ago as a possible for Benson 21, i remember it because of the comments that that were made about the uphill pic. Looks a fairly chilled horse, hope he finds a happy home soon.
