As per my post last night, I don't think we're going for the warmblood, but not sure as I think the pressure is a bit too much at the moment.

As I said, I have a hw 15.1hh welsh cob and my dream is a traditional cob, plenty of bone and feather. Are there any for sale on the usual sites that are suitable!? Are there heck as like!

I am in no rush I guess. I looked at the possbility of Irish Draught but now I have got to the point where I have to seriously think about what I want, it's another hw cob that's a weight-carrier, to be honest, although I am willing to be proven wrong!

I have 2 stables waiting for me at a new yard and while it is possible to move with one horse and keep the other stable on hold, it would be tricky. I guess there's no rush: I want the right horse...

Thanks both.

Sadly 14.2hh would be too little

I am 5'10"

The bay reminds me a bit of George but he looks bigger than G (although they are apparently the same height). Wiltshire is also quite close to me, hmmmmmmmm. Thankees.

What age do you want? I know Andrea at Meadowfarm has a couple of very nice, bred in the purple gypsy cobs that are set to make over 15 hands, but they are youngsters. If she has not got want you want, she will know someone who does. I bought mine from her and found her very helpful and still keep in touch.

07931 206579 or 01227 722362 are the contact numbers.

She is not the cheapest, but has a good reputation and sells quality gypsy horses - speak to the BSPA if you want to ask about her.

I know of a fab cob but its in Lincolnshire. Its young. Just started jumping and flies over anything. A real alround super safe heavy cob. The sort hard to find nowadays. She is bay. Not sure of the hieght. Soft good mouth. An old fashioned cart horse type.
He does ask a bit for his horses but you get what you pay for.

Yes, I think it's great! When we owned the farm, it was dairy but we had some horses there. Then my grandparents decided to sell, retire and buy a little house in Chapel St. Leonards which is where they have lived for the last 6 years! The people who bought it turned it into a huge horsey yard... my dream come true. It was what my dad always wanted to do with it if he'd bought it from them/inherrited it.

Another vote for Andrea at Meadowfarm. I bought a HW coloured cob from her a couple of years ago and soon realised he wasn't right for me (no fault of the horse, but I have ongoing leg problems and he wasn't the sort of horse to be idle for too long), she took him back and resold him for me without any hassle at all. Definitely worth a phone call.

I thought Gyspy cobs were bigger when I started looking but turns out 13.2-14.2 is pretty standard for cobs and there are very few over 15hh. I wanted a 15.2-16hh HW cob and they are like gold dust!

Depends how long you are willing to wait.......... I have an 18month old bay and white traditional who will be MW-HW and about 15-15.2hh. He'll be for sale eventually. In about 4 years time.............
