We are in the process of gearing up to put our own house on the market soon to move down to the Stirling and North / NE of it, Crieff area would be our ideal area but also Doune/Callander / Perthshire but happy to look further east as well as I cant find anything with even an acre or two (2 ideally) within our not-incredible budget. Obviously Id much rather have a property lined up as its terrifying putting our own on the market with no current properties on the market that suit! Is anyone thinking about selling or know of anyone that is, with a 4/5 bed home ideally with a couple acres for my horses in this sort of wide area. If no land, then even just land nearby available to rent long term? Im keen to try and avoid putting my 2 into livery as one is elderly and a busy yard just wouldn't suit him. Im stressing massively about the whole move!

I don't currently know of any suitable properties for sale, but would you consider a long term tennancy on one of the large rural estates? If so, I may have a contact.

Good luck for the house sale and move - exciting times! Also, we are in that exact area, and I'm more than happy to meet up and show you around when you arrive. If you need a hacking/pony cub/BE buddy, just shout!

Thanks, but unfortunately we're looking to buy rather than rent as we have a young family and prefer the stability :)

Thanks, that would be amazing if I can stay in touch with you!

You don’t want to live in Denny MM.

Edited to add when we were buying near Stirling the estate agents told us to avoid south of the river..Denny, Fallin, Plean etc. There was/is planning permission for a “super village” to be built in that area too.

Sorry, I'm further west so wasn't aware that it was an undesirable area, I just thought near Stirling!

Completely understandable EventingMum lol..it’s why you have to do the boots on the ground looking otherwise you d never know unless ..like the estate agent did us…someone tells you.

Don't know if this is of any interest to you. I'm in Glasgow so not local but it looks like it's in your search area

Crienich Stables are just opposite Drymen showfield and have been used as a livery yard for many years. Obviously, the house is small for MM but it's a nice area. I don't know much about primary schools there but I would imagine the secondary school would be Balfron which has a good reputation. It would be within easy reach of a lot of horsey activities and things for the children as well as being an fairly easy drive to Stirling and Glasgow.

This has been a residential yard for a few years now. Local primary school in the village and high school in the next village. Both have questionable reputations now from what I hear. Certainly 20/25 years ago the high school had a very good reputation. The yard is okay, certainly wouldn't turn it down for my own but there is absolutely no hacking whatsoever from it, you would need to box up and go out.

Huh....A friend of mine has just moved her horses to a wee private yard near Croftamie. I hope for her sake it isn't that one! Don't know how many there are.

Interesting! I know that area. It probably wouldn't be that one it is private and at the moment only has shetlands.

Yeah, definitely not then. My friend doesn't have Shetlands. The one she went to is just someone's house and wee horse property, not a livery yard at all. Sounds nice, but not really in the cards for me because it's too far away for DIY.

I guess there are a few around Croftamie.
